Christine E. Agaibi, M.A. (ABD) is a Doctoral Candidate (Ph.D.) in Counseling Psychology at The University of Akron. She is the current President of Ohio Women in Psychology (OWP) and Past Chair of the Ohio Psychological Association’s Graduate Student Executive Council (OPAGS 2009-2010). She completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at the Ohio Psychology Internship, an American Psychological Association accredited internship consortium, where she had comprehensive and diverse didactic and practical training with children and adolescents, families, couples, and adults, in assessment, forensics, substance use issues, and individual and group therapy.
Christine’s research interests are in the areas of resilience and coping, religion and spirituality, and multicultural and diversity issues. She is planning to complete her dissertation on Resilience later this year. Christine also sits on the Boards of Division 17 Section on Positive Psychology of the American Psychological Association and Division 17 Special Interest Group on Religion and Spirituality in Counseling Psychology of the American Psychological Association. Christine has also sat on the Ohio Psychological Association’s Board of Directors for the past two years in her representation of OWP and OPAGS.
