Because of her passion to strengthen marriages, Karen has completed Level 1 training in the Gottman method for couples and plans to pursue further training. She also cares deeply about supporting and encouraging parents as they strive to raise godly children.
Before becoming a counselor, Karen earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Manufacturing and Control Systems. She and her husband have been married for over 25 years and have three children. Karen is a graduate of the Family Ministry Program.

Currently she is an Assistant Professor teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Sofie has a passion for serving and training; she enjoys leading workshops and speaking on a variety of mental health and parenting topics through a culturally sensitive perspective.

Adel has a Master of Art in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. Adel works as volunteer addiction counselor in the Salvation Army Seattle Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) for the last five years. He serves in the Coptic Orthodox Church in Seattle, WA as the youth counselor and one of the youth servants. Also, he is a mental helth counselor associate in private practice.
Before that, Adel used to be an aerospace engineer who retired in 2014.

Dr. Selim graduated with a Medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1975. After graduation, he specialized in Anesthesia at El Salam Hospital, El-Mohandesin in Cairo, Egypt. Shortly after, he immigrated to the United States and worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland Ohio, as a Research Associate and Published a paper in the field of Anesthesia. In 1984 he went back to school to attend Ashland University and graduated with a Masters degree in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling in 1987.
Dr. Selim began work at a Psychiatry Private Practice with Dr. Shoukry Matta in New Castle, PA and in 1992 went on to Valley Counseling Services; a private group of Counselors, Psychiatrists, and Social Workers.
