Dr. Selim graduated with a Medical degree from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1975. After graduation, he specialized in Anesthesia at El Salam Hospital, El-Mohandesin in Cairo, Egypt. Shortly after, he immigrated to the United States and worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland Ohio, as a Research Associate and Published a paper in the field of Anesthesia. In 1984 he went back to school to attend Ashland University and graduated with a Masters degree in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling in 1987.
Dr. Selim began work at a Psychiatry Private Practice with Dr. Shoukry Matta in New Castle, PA and in 1992 went on to Valley Counseling Services; a private group of Counselors, Psychiatrists, and Social Workers. In addition to Dr. Selim’s professional experiences, he is currently active in Youth and Adult services at Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Cleveland, Ohio and as a Committee Member of Boy Scouts Troop 25 in Canfield, Ohio. Dr. Selim’s areas of expertise include (but are not limited to) Child and Adolescent Counseling, Depression, Stress, Mood Disorders, and Couples and Marital challenges.
